Cereal Box Craft - Bookmark Holder

I created this nifty bookmark holder for my daughter. She is starting her career today as a 4th grade teacher. I made her 30 of recycled bookmarks for her students and decided to make a holder for them to sit in on her bookcase. I used a fruit roll-up box, tape runner, scrapbook paper and then covered it all in mod podge.

Terra Cotta Pot Craft - An apple for the Teacher

Another fun, easy and great craft to make using a Terra Cotta Pot. Once again I had a majority of the items here.

Time to dry some apples to use as a decoration.

 
Apples are dried after 2 days.

Time to attach them to pot.

These tags will be used to put on a jar of jam, a bag of biscuits and then one will go on front of pot when I get the material to use as a background.

 
I will post pictures of finished project after I find the material I am looking for to make the biscuit bag.

Cereal Box Craft - Wallet/Business card holder

The original instructions are on replayground. However, I chose not to hole punch and use elastic but too just use a velcro dot.

Cut template, trace around box with pencil and cut out. Score where folds are indicated. Assemble.

More altered composition books

My son and daughter had special requests for their composition books. These are the finished projects.

This was a quick last minute idea I wanted to try. I purchased the ceramic mug at Michael's with permanent markers for $1.99.  I was originally going to use paint markers but only had a green one which I did end up using because the green marker was dry.  Now come Christmas time I can put a packet of Hot Cocoa in the mug, along with some mini marshmallows, some red and green M&M's and a snowman cookie. This will all be wrapped with cellophane and a reg and green ribbon. 

Cereal Box Craft - Pencil Case

Thanks to RePlayGround for the template for this project! The directions come on the template, however the score lines did not print I had to do them myself.

Open a food box at the seams and flatten it out.

Trace template on cardboard and cut it out. Mark the score lines ( I skipped this and just did it by looking at it) and fold.

Fold up pencil case, tuck bottom flap. Secure with tape, or your favorite adhesive. I used my tape runner.

Attach a self adhesive hook and loop fastener. ( I will be attaching velcro dots)

Cereal Box Craft - Postcard

I have decided to try and reuse cardboard cereal boxes, fruit snack boxes, etc... along with the liners in the cereal box.  The liners can be used to wrap food in for lunches, can be used in place of waxed paper and make great paint catchers for small paint jobs such as crafts.

The first craft I did was the bookmarks and now the postcards. There will be more to come as I complete them.
I am thinking about making little gift sets  of all the recycled cardboard crafts to give out to kids in my daughters classroom for Christmas.

First flatten out a cereal box, soda carton, fruit snack box etc.... and gather needed supplies such as paper cutter, scissors, xacto knife, ruler etc..

Cut into 4 x 6 rectangles (this is the max size allowed as a postcard per the US Postal Service).

Round corners using a corner punch or leave it as it is.

Take a black permanent marker and draw a line down the middle and then draw lines for the address.

Terra Cotta Pot Craft - Coffee Theme

Another fun craft to do. I made this to give my daughter for her 19th birthday. She actually chose the colors and I was supposed to  make it last year and never got around to it. I already had everything here it was just the matter of me taking the time to do it.  I'm not sure what I am going to put in it but I was thinking maybe some of her favorites like truffles and Twizzlers.

This was a quick, easy and fun project to complete. I purchased a store bought black and white composition book and the rest of the materials I had here. I used a 12x12 piece of scrapbook paper, mod podge, 8x10 piece cardstock and scrapbook embellishment. Open your minds and let your imagination run wild as the possibilities with this is endless! Why not make that child in your life one of these as a back to school gift?

Button Monogram

I got this wonderful idea from sparing-change. I thought it would make a great gift for Alyssa, our newest niece that was born in April of this year. I personally think this turned out great. It took some planning and some patience but doing that I was able to get all the items without spending a dime! I got a bunch of frames off freecyle along with some butterfly embellishments, the paint, glue, paper and acrylic sealer I had here already, and the buttons were purchased off of Amazon.com using gift cards I earned with swagbucks.
