Rudolph Day - February

Well it's the 25th of the month so let's do something to help us prepare for Christmas. Hmmmmmm I think today will be a good day for me to write my Christmas card list and my gift list. What are you going to do?

Reminder tomorrow is Rudolph Day

Just a heads up that tomorrow the 25th is Rudolph Day! Let's get ready for the 2012 Christmas Season.

I know Christmas just ended and here I am bringing it up so soon. On my forum one of our members suggested we do a Rudolph Day on the 25th of every month and do something related to Christmas. We can prepare for the upcoming Christmas season by making cards, making gift list, making gifts, buying a gift etc... Or if we choose we can listen to Christmas music or watch a Christmas movie. Doing a little each month will help keep you from getting so frazzled during the holiday season.

I know it is a little late to join in for this month as it is today but hopefully you will join in next month and share with us what you did.

Letters to Santa - Free App

I just wanted to share with you all a great free app for your kids to enjoy. I downloaded this the other day and my daughter tried it today and was very happy with the results and so was I. She was able to send a letter to Santa telling him what she wanted for Christmas and then a few hours later he sent her a letter back. I was then able to send it, along with her letter to my email so we can print it out. There is no limit on how many can be sent or how many replies you can receive. The only downfall is that you have to wait for the reply before you can send another letter. Why not download it and let your child communicate with Santa.

Snowflake Christmas Cards

I purchased a snowflake punch from Michael's last weekend with a 40% off coupon and then got 25% off my entire order. Not a bad deal if you ask me! Anyway, I decided to play around with it the other night and came up with these two Christmas cards. I can't wait to see what other ones I can come up with. We do a Christmas card exchange on my forum and I wanted to do some different homemade cards this year to send.

In the meadow we can build a....

This was a quick last minute idea I wanted to try. I purchased the ceramic mug at Michael's with permanent markers for $1.99.  I was originally going to use paint markers but only had a green one which I did end up using because the green marker was dry.  Now come Christmas time I can put a packet of Hot Cocoa in the mug, along with some mini marshmallows, some red and green M&M's and a snowman cookie. This will all be wrapped with cellophane and a reg and green ribbon. 

Button Monogram

I got this wonderful idea from sparing-change. I thought it would make a great gift for Alyssa, our newest niece that was born in April of this year. I personally think this turned out great. It took some planning and some patience but doing that I was able to get all the items without spending a dime! I got a bunch of frames off freecyle along with some butterfly embellishments, the paint, glue, paper and acrylic sealer I had here already, and the buttons were purchased off of Amazon.com using gift cards I earned with swagbucks.
