E-coupons and Printable Coupons

Are you familiar with the term E-coupons? It is the newest invention among couponers. Just go to the site, register your store card or cards, and click on the coupons that you want on the cards. It's that easy! Some of these work a little differently that the traditnal coupons though. One site you can earn money but it doesn't save you at the time of shopping and one site uses your savings to help build a college education for your child.

The printable coupon sites are great also as you can just pick which ones you want or you can print them all. Also some sites will let you print more than one of each. However, I have never been able to print more than 3 of one coupon.

I will share the list of sites I use and/or am familiar with. If you happen to have any not listed please share them with us. Thanks!

Printable:

RedPlum.com

SmartSource.com

CouponNetwork.com

Coupons.com

Shortcuts.com

eCoupons:

SavingStar.com - Giant, Food Lion, CVS, Rite Aid. Can register multiple cards from same store. Reloads on Thursday. When you buy a product, the savings does not come off your grocery bill like a coupon. You get credit for it on SavingStar.com and when you reach $5+ you can request the money back via your bank account, PayPal or gift card.

Safeway.com Register your card and/or log in, click on the Just for U tab then Coupon Center and add all the deals to your card each week. Pretty sure you can stack these and manufacturer coupons.

P&G eSaver Looks like you can register any store card since you type in the name and number. It says "Coupons must be redeemed from card to add more". Not sure if that means you have to use the ecoupons you select before you are offered any more?

uPromise You don't get the instant discount, but the ecoupon amount will go into your uPromise account for college. Plus click the "Coupons and Deals" tab to find promo codes for discount at TONS of online stores.

FoodLion This is powered by RedPlum, which also has some ecoupons so I'm not sure if they will conflict. Never hurts to try!

RedPlum You can load eCoupons to your FoodLion card. Looks like the same ecoupons from the FoodLion site.

Shortcuts.com Register your Safeway card as a Carrs card. I have redeemed ecoupons from Safeway using this site. Also has printable.

Coupons.com For your Safeway card and has printables. Interestingly, some of the eCoupons are the same as the printable and I'm wondering if they can be stacked?

Coupon help

You can get coupons from the newspaper and on line as printables or by purchasing some paper ones. I am lucky as I get my coupons free from the lady I work for but if I didn't I would probably purchase a Sunday paper in addition to printing them off line.

I have a few sites that I would like to share that help me in my preparation of grocery shopping.  The first one CouponMom has just about everything you need for free to get started in saving with coupons. She lists the store, the prices, the coupons and where to find them etc... When I first started using coupons I used her site faithfully to help me save. However, now I pretty much do it on my own. Give it a shot! Sign up and take a chance...What do you have to lose? NOTHING because it's all free!

The second site that I use is this coupon database which is also free. I love being able to type in a product I am looking for and it tells me what paper, website or magazine I can find it in. If it is a printable coupon there is a link you can click that will take you right to it. Just make sure the store you are shopping at accepts printed coupons before wasting your time, paper and ink. This site is awesome especially for beginner couponers.

You could also host a coupon swap or start a coupon train to keep the costs of the coupons down. I have even looked on freecycle for coupons. Ask family members and friends to share what they don't use. It sure beats them going in the trash or the recycle bin.

Saving Star

There is a new way to save at the store……It’s called Saving Star and it’s all digital and requires very little work.

So, how does it work you ask? You create an account and then you register all your store loyalty cards that participate in the program. After you register your cards, you’re able to load coupons from the Saving Star website to your account. When you go to the store and scan your card, if you buy the items that are saved on your card, the coupon amount goes into your Saving Star account. Nothing changes with your total at the store as the amount will be credited online in your Saving Star account. When you reach at least $5 in your Saving Star account, you are able to request a gift card or have it deposited into your checking account. My favorite is the $5 Amazon gift card.

Also, you can use a paper coupon right along with the Saving Star coupon since it doesn't come off the total due.

IMPORTANT: If you see a coupon you like, add it! Waiting too long might result in a “Sold Out” status.

1.      Log in and Register For Free Here
2.      Do a search by Zip Code to find the local stores near you.
3.      Enter the card number for each store loyalty card and Submit.
4.      Next, select the eCoupons you like on the stores website or mobile app, and they are automatically linked to your store card.
5.       Use your card when you checkout and the money is added to your SavingStar account. You won’t notice the savings take place at the register.  Instead, they get deposited into your account within 7-30 days depending on which store you shop.
6.      Once your Saving Star account reaches $5 in savings, you can pick how you want to get paid:  from a bank account deposit, a PayPal account deposit, an Amazon gift card, or a donation to charity.

CVS Shopping Tips - #3

CVS Coupon Policy: Straight from Customer Care
(thanks to mamacheaps.com for supplying us with this information)

Thank you for contacting CVS/pharmacy. Your e-mail has reached the Customer Relations Department. We appreciate the time you took to contact us with your inquiry. Our coupon policy is not available on our Web site. We reserve the right to change this policy at any time.

Our registers are set to allow 1 CVS coupon and 1 manufacturer coupon per item. Free coupons or “offers at the register” (OAR’s) are unearned and issued to you as a valued member of the CVS/pharmacy ExtraCare program. These coupons take the form of “open ended” coupons such as $3 off $15 or a certain dollar amount off a specific item. In any given transaction our registers will allow only one “open ended” coupon per transaction. CVS Extra Buck coupons are earned when you make a qualifying purchase. These print out instantly at the register upon reaching the threshold for the offer. You can use more than one Extra Buck coupon provided the purchase threshold has been met for each offer amount on a per-transaction basis.

In the case where a particular item is on sale for “buy one get one free” (BOGO), you are only allowed to use one manufacturer’s BOGO coupon. For instance, if Revlon lipstick is on sale for BOGO, you can use one manufacturer’s BOGO coupon. You would get both items free and pay any applicable tax. We reserve the right to limit quantities after the first purchase. If our store is running a sale for BOGO, you can use two manufacturer’s coupons for a specific dollar amount off. For example, if Revlon lipstick is on sale at our store for BOGO, you can use two $1.00 off Revlon lipstick manufacturer coupons.

CVS/pharmacy does accept manufacturers’ coupons that have been obtained from manufacturer sponsored and/or authorized Web sites. The coupon should be complete and contain a bar code that can be scanned at the register. If the coupon does not scan, the cashier should politely inform you that we cannot accept your coupon. We do not allow manual overrides at the register for coupons printed from the Internet. CVS/pharmacy will not accept offers printed from unauthorized Internet postings or reproductions, copies, or facsimiles.

We do not accept competitors’ coupons for front store items. We feel that our sales and ExtraCare program are comparable if not better than any sales or coupons offered by our competitors. We also do not accept any expired coupons, CVS or otherwise. We do not “double” or “triple” coupons.
Again, thank you for contacting us. We value your business and look forward to serving you in the future.

Sincerely,
Korrine

How to save when eating out

Do you like to go out to eat but the prices are keeping you home? There are several ways to save money when you go out to eat.

1. coupons - do an internet search for coupons to the restaurant you want to eat at, go to the restaurant webpage and see if they have any coupons listed that you can print, watch for coupons in the mail for your local restaurants.

2. gift certificates - use restaurant.com and print certificates for the places you want to eat. A $25 gift certificate will normally cost you $10 unless......do what I do and wait for the 80% code (have it emailed or search 80% code for restaurant.com) and then you pay only $2 for a $25 certificate. Check it out today!

3. Go to restaurants that offer kids to eat for free. Not sure where these are or what days it is offered. Try kidseat4free.com, http://www.kidseatfor.com/, and http://www.kidsmealdeals.com/.

4. Do you want restaurant food but don't want to go out? Why not do an internet search for your favorite meal at your favorite restaurant and make it at home. Or you can try http://www.cdkitchen.com/copycat/, http://www.all-restaurantrecipes.com/ or http://bestcopycatrestaurantrecipes.blogspot.com/.

5. Instead of dinner go out for lunch instead as your lunch choices are usually cheaper.

6. Share a meal with someone or eat an appetizer as your meal

7. Order water to drink.

8. Buy and Entertainment Book. First I would make sure you will use it enough to cover the cost of the book.

9.  Go during the week and catch the weekly specials.

10.  Skip dessert and eat one at home or skip it altogether.

11. Set a budget before you head out. Find their menu on line and plan before you leave.

12.  If you order a large meal..eat half then and get the other half to take home giving you 2 meals for the price of 1.

Some things I do to save at the grocery store.

I am going to share some of the tips I use to help me save at the grocery store. Why not comment and share your ideas also.

1. Spend no more than $2.00 on a box of cereal
2. Spend no more than $2.00 on 32oz of laundry detergent
3. Spend no more than $1.99 lb for meat
4. Spend no more than $5.00 for 8pk papertowels
5. Spend no more than $5.00 for 12pk toilet paper
6. Spend no more than $1.00 for tube of toothpaste (full size)
7. Spend no more than $1.00 for dish liquid
8. Spend no more than $2.00 for body wash
9. Never pay full price for anything. Buy on sale, clearance and try to piggy back coupons with the sales.
10. Make weekly menu from what is on sale or what you have at home.
11. Combine shopping trips all in one day and in one local area to save on fuel. I also have the luxury of passing all the places I shop on my way to and from work
12. Get a stock pile going of items you use regularly so you never have to pay full price.
13. Don't be greedy! Take what you will use and share with others. I share mine with friends, and family
14. Don't waste money on paper napkins, use cloth
15. Buy fruits and vegs that are in season and from local farmers in possible.
16. Don't be brand particular. Compare prices from sales, coupons and store brands and buy the least expensive.
17.Don't buy just because it's a good deal, or just because you have a coupon. It's not a deal if it goes unused and wasted.
18.Buy less prepackaged foods and make more from scratch. Not only can this me cheaper but since you control the ingredients it tends to be healthier
19. Compare the prices of all the local stores. Keep a price book or know your prices off hand so you know when you are getting a good deal
20. Buy deli meats on sale only. Buy extra and freeze to use later.
21. Don't disregard your local drugstore (CVS,Riteaid, etc.) when it comes too food. Sometimes they have deals that will beat your grocery store.

Our overseas military could use our coupons!

I found a website that gives the opportunity to adopt an entire military base overseas to support by sending manufacturer coupons. I adopted a U.S. Marine Corp base in Iwakuni, Japan (Marine Corp Base in Japan) and I along with a lady from my forum have been actively sending coupons for 2 months. What a great way to give back to our Military.  You can either go to Overseas Coupon Program to learn more about the program and adopt a base of your own or if you would rather send me the coupons I will do all the leg work. They also accept expired coupons but ask that they be no more than 2 months past the date. Please leave me a comment or email me if you would like to join us in this opportunity.
